After living in our home we loved for 33 years we decided it was time to downgrade and most importantly move closer to our daughters and son-in-laws in California.  Our biggest motivation was the birth of our first granddaughter!

Some family friends recently moved and they recommended we contact Doug. After our initial meeting with Doug we chose Friends and Family Homes. Of course we appreciated the Flat Fee that did save us thousands of dollars!  Doug portrayed himself as a Real Estate Agent willing to help by doing things other agents won’t do.  Doug proved himself numerous times such as helping to paint interior walls prior to listing. We moved to California and left Doug to  coordinated with the Estate Sale Agent. As the sale proceeded and the buyers requested items indicated by the inspectors Doug successfully negotiated with the buyers. Doug arranged for the services of an electrician and tree trimmer. He saved us the expense of a plumber and carpenter by volunteering to fix a sink and work on the deck.  All this would have been difficult for me from California. Doug continued to be there as needed until the remote closing was completed.

” We were really making an aggressive decision in the summer when we decided to put our house on the market in hopes of purchasing one particular house. Doug sat down with us and made a plan for what we really needed to do with our house prior to putting it on the market. But he went way beyond that. Recognizing that we didn’t have much time if we were going to get the house we really wanted, he rolled up his sleeves and helped. He brought over needed equipment and helped us tear down and put up a new fence, fix sinks and other items that we hadn’t gotten around to. He made a few trips to Home Depot  both with me and by himself for these repairs.

Once our house was on the market, he did a great job of negotiating both the sale of our old house and the purchase of our new house, walking us through e process and keeping our wishes and best interests at heart always.
